It is going to be that ONE DAY you have been waiting for. For some, maybe all your life. 😊
You are engaged now, enjoying the bliss of your new chapter that starts to glimmer on the horizon.
Everything seems to just shine a little bit brighter, a little bit more beautiful and there is certainly quite a bit more gratefulness in our hearts – for being able to say yes to the person we belong to.

Enjoy this time, take it all in.

And then…there is a little work to do:
To make it your special day you will have to start planning quite a while in advance because you want to make sure to get the vendors of your choice.

1. How long in advance should we start planning our wedding?

It makes sense to start 9 months to a year ahead. 9 months could even be a bit tricky as there are only so many weekends per year that most couples consider as their wedding date.
First come, first serve, as we usually say in business, right?

To eliminate the stress of getting everything in place for a certain weekend in a shorter period of time, have you considered a weekday wedding?
Many vendors provide their facilities and services at reduced prices during the week and even off-seasons such as Fall and Winter.

2. What do we need to think about when planning our wedding?

Wedding Planning can be stressful.

Please spend some time thinking about what type of wedding you are aiming for – from an elopement to super complex ceremonies and celebrations – everything depends on your vision and what you are expecting your special day to look like.

In many cases, it makes sense to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator for your own peace of mind to have someone else handling and thinking about details and what you’ll need.
Once you decide on a date make sure that your venue of choice will be available before booking any other vendors for space and time that – in the end – cannot be accommodated.

To give you a bit of brain food for what to think about in terms of weddings I have created an FAQ list.

3. Who to go to?

If you are still here and reading this you, for one, may have possibly found your officiant. 😊 I create personalized, unique ceremonies for you, your love, and your story. Inquire with me here.

And then for other wedding vendors, I hope I can help you as well:
I have worked with some fantastic wedding service providers in and around the Okanagan (or I know them from personal connections).
